On September 26 and 27, 2024, Vienna hosted a major meeting for the Prometheus-X association. Held at The Hoxton, the partners of this initiative, including Visions, engaged in two days of intense exchanges and strategic decisions. Far more than a simple gathering, this event marked a decisive turning point for the association. Discover the recap of this event, which brought together innovative players to drive significant advances in the development of Data Spaces.
An agenda focused on results
The motto of this meeting was action. With a structured agenda to achieve concrete outcomes, the partners moved beyond discussions to focus on implementing innovative ideas. Visions actively contributed to the dynamic exchanges and strategies aimed at advancing Prometheus-X. Special emphasis was placed on collaboration between Work Package 2 (WP2), led by Visions, and Work Package 3 (WP3), which focuses on building blocks essential for creating a robust data space infrastructure. These components are critical for enabling decentralised services such as AI model training and skills data sharing.
Demonstrations and presentations: A glimpse into the Skills Data Space potential
Over these two days, several inspiring sessions allowed participants to explore the progress made and the future challenges. Two Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstrations for use cases developed under WP2 provided a concrete illustration of the power of the skills data space. Coordinated by Visions, these PoCs gave Prometheus-X members a firsthand view of the real possibilities enabled by interoperability within a data space.
WP2 partners also gathered around mini-workshops for each use case developed under this Work Package. Visions actively participated in discussions to refine the solutions proposed by each Use Case Leader (UCL) to better meet the operational requirements of skills data sharing. Each partner had the opportunity to delve into the use cases and define specific needs for data and analysis. This groundwork laid the foundation for the next stages of PoC development.
Knowledge sharing and collaborative engagement
During the Prometheus-X members’ meeting, hands-on workshops and networking sessions provided a unique opportunity for partners to collaborate on strategic projects. These sessions allowed each organization, including Visions, to share its progress and contribute to shared objectives.
The interactive workshops focused on concrete aspects of the Prometheus-X project, particularly the alignment of technical requirements between WP3, dedicated to building blocks, and WP2, which focuses on testing the skills data space use cases powered by the VisionsTrust marketplace. By addressing critical challenges such as data accuracy and seamless component integration, the partners collaborated to define robust testing strategies and practical implementation scenarios.
For Visions, this meeting was also an opportunity to highlight VisionsTrust, the marketplace used by all Prometheus-X use cases, designed to facilitate data sharing and collaboration within the Data Spaces ecosystem. Alongside the workshops, networking sessions allowed partners to exchange ideas on the new perspectives offered by the skills data space, further strengthening collaboration within the association.
A promising future for Prometheus-X and VisionsTrust
The Vienna meeting laid the groundwork for a promising future for Prometheus-X, with clear objectives and concrete steps to strengthen the skills data space in Europe. By December, the first test plans will be finalised, including PoCs for key partners such as imc, Headai, and Schülerkarriere.
For VisionsTrust, this event confirmed its central role in data interoperability and the creation of innovative solutions for skills management. The coming months hold the promise of major breakthroughs for this transformative project.
