The l’Etudiant Salon in Saint Quentin en Yvelines (SQY) took place on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10am to 6pm. For this 11th edition, we were invited to introduce the orientation assessment and VisionsGalaxy to young people seeking guidance.
What is the l’Etudiant Salon in Saint Quentin en Yvelines ?
The Salon de l’étudiant en Yvelines is a must-attend orientation fair for young people who have questions about their future career choices. This event is organized in partnership with the Academy of Versailles, the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines urban community, UVSQ, Université Paris Saclay, and the Île-de-France region.
Thus, during one day, over 6,000 people were present to:
- Directly exchange with key players in education and training
- Learn about studies and possible career paths
- Gather information about potential professions
- Refine their orientation projects by attending conferences
This orientation fair is mainly aimed at high school students who are building their orientation projects and those who need to make their wishes on Parcoursup. Similarly, students wishing to reorient or pursue studies after a bachelor’s or master’s degree could find answers there. This fair is also an opportunity for parents and teachers to support young people in their career choices.
More than 150 young people tested the orientation assessment and VisionsGalaxy.
Invited to the Saint Quentin en Yvelines urban community’s stand, we led a part of the stand by introducing our orientation assessment and VisionsGalaxy platform to as many people as possible. The rest of the stand was divided into 3 parts with:
- The “Cité des Métiers de SQY” which advised young people on their professional project.
- The “Mission Locale de SQY” which answered questions from young people about their professional integration.
- The “Enseignement Supérieur et recherche” service of the Saint Quentin en Yvelines urban community which provided many practical tips to young people wishing to study in the territory.
After this orientation fair, we were delighted to see the enthusiasm of young people and their parents regarding our tools. With these positive feedbacks, we are preparing new interventions within the Saint Quentin en Yvelines urban community and in other orientation fairs.
